Maybe snow, probably rain... plus an update on the lifts.
Transcript
4 more days of resort skiing and there’s a chance of snow today. Life could be worse! However. many of the lifts and runs closed down yesterday so if you are heading out, there will be limited terrain to choose from. Perisher has closed down Blue Cow and Guthega, now operating around 17 lifts between front valley and the eyre bowl. Thredbo has around 8 lifts still open, though the supertrail and high noon runs are closed, as well as Friday flat. Over at Charlotte Pass though, 4 of 5 lifts are open as is most of the terrain.
On the weather side of things, it’s hovering around 0 at the moment and a little wet at perisher, though not at Thredbo. If it does snow, it will be this morning, but I’m not so sure TBH. Otherwise, there will probably be more rain on and off through the day. As with the last few days, the winds will get up to fresh or moderate in the higher areas, otherwise it will be calm down low. Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass should hit a max of 5 by the mid afternoon, with Thredbo top station up to 3 degrees. But with the conditions, it’s gonna feel colder than this all around the mountains.
It’ll cool down overnight , so hopefully we might get a bit of snow then too. Fingers crossed. The roads are ok to Perisher and Thredbo, though keep those chains handy just in case it does snow. The road to Charlotte Pass is still closed, but it should gradually start being cleared and opened from this monday, in case you’re keen for a drive.
I hope you have a great Friday whatever you are up to , and I will chat to you again tomorrow for the 3rd last report of the season. Thanks for listening, I’m Anthonyy Garvin, it’s Friday September 30 and this has been daily snow.
