Snow incoming! Plus a re-cap of the last seven days.

We are so fortunate to have such a variety of terrain in Australia. I know we usually talk about snow in this podcast, but that’s not what I am referring to this time… I’m back in the studio this morning, after spending 10 days on the road doing an amazing trip around outback South Australia and a bit of Queensland. If you ever get a chance to check out Wilpena Pound, Birdsville, Marree or Coober Pedy, you should definitely go. It’s been amazing. In the meantime, I’m sorry if the audio quality of this podcast has suffered while I was out there, but I’m happy I still managed to deliver a daily episode to you and I learnt a lot along the way.
Before we get into today’s snow update, let’s recap last week. Last Tuesday Perisher and Charlotte’s got a few cm of snow, but Thredbo missed out. From Thursday through Saturday, it was unfortunately raining on and off through all the resorts. Since then it has cooled down, which means…
It has started snowing this morning around Perisher, and shouldn’t be too far off in Thredbo! Hopefully it continues and we see at least a few centimeters through the day.. It will be a max of 2 degrees in Perisher Valley, 1 in Charlotte pass, and -1 at Thredbo top station… but it’s going to feel a lot colder than that, as there’s also going to be a bit of wind. It’s currently gusting towards high, and could get towards gale force, before calming down much later today. Depending on this, you might find some lifts on wind hold, but otherwise mostly all will be running across all 3 resorts.
If the snow continues around Perisher, you’re likely to have to put chains on, or engage 4WD, and it’s possible that might happen at Thredbo , so be prepared.
