It seems like a good time to re-cap last week, as it was mantionably fastnastic!. There was a lot of snowfall earlier on, covering even Jindabyne and the surrounds of Cooma. The resorts got a dumping , adding significantly to the snow base. It’s currently the highest in almost 3 years, measuring 204.5cm as of last Wednesday.

It has got a little warmer since then, and Perisher and Thredbo both saw the teeny tiniest amount of rain yesterday, though the temps were lower than expected, so hopefully the snow that we have will stay around for a while yet. And, it looks like we will have a little more snow this week.

If you’re heading up today, best to do so early. It’s reasonably clear at all NSW resorts right now, but rain is incoming from about lunchtime, peaking around 4pm. The winds may be an issue too, with Perisher already suffering near gale gusts, and Thredbo even stronger. That’s predicted to continue, so we may find lifts on wind hold. The actual temperatures won’t be that cold, but with the wind and the rain it’s going to feel like it’s freezing, so make sure you rug up.

But the good news is that the wet weather may turn to snow overnight! Back to you tomorrow on that!

All roads to Perisher and Thredbo are open, the charlotte pass road is closed until October, but i’ll be sure to update you when it’s open.
