Time to grab the left overs from yesterday's bluebird day...

My big thanks this morning to Snow Skiers Warehouse in Rockdale, Sydney, and a shout out to Toby and Benny there. Thanks for the chat yesterday guys, and your support and enthusiasm - and BTW, the store has 20% off most of their winter gear at the moment, as does the sister store Trojan near Windsor.
Onto the snow, and yesterday by all accounts was a highlight day of the year, with an amazing bluebird day. The three day storm stopped early in the morning and the sun was obstructed only by a bit of cloud here and there, whilst it stayed rather cold… All those that were there looked to be having the time of their lives in the fresh snow. Unfortunately that did not include me and I’m making myself a little jealous, so let’s move on to today.
Today is definitely a good time to ride the remainder of the fresh snow, as it will be a beautiful clear day , but it’s also going to get much warmer. It’s currently below zero as I speak, but don’t let that fool you, as it will crack 1 degree in the next hour or so and continue to rise. By mid afternoon it will be 6 degrees up at Thredbo top Station, and an even warmer 9 degrees down in Perisher Valley and over at Charlotte Pass. At the very top of the mountains you’ll have a moderate breeze at worst, so it should feel a little colder up there, but down low it will just be a light breeze. The UV index is high, so take your sunscreen as you’ll need it between 9am and 3pm.
With no new snow, you won’t need to put on chains to get to Perisher or Thredbo, but remember to carry them with you.
