Good Morning, it’s Wednesday September 21 and this is Daily Snow.
Before we get stuck into the conditions I just wanted to share another great Aussie snow podcast Ive found…take a listen to Loving the Snowlife. It’s a podcast hosted by two ski bum mums that have a mix of adventurer and snow celebrity interviews, with info about snow gear and various snow resorts around the world. Check it out - again it’s called Loving The Snowlife - on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. It’s linked in today’s show notes too.
the highest it’s been since:Now having said that, it’s been above zero degrees since yesterday, so unfortunately some of that snow is already melting. The forecasts are all saying much the same too - it’s going to be warm ish for at least the next few days. So there really is just precious few days left in the season, I hope you get to make the most of them.
Onto today, and the good news is that we thought it would be raining by now, but it’s not! We can’t avoid it forever though, and it’s probably going to start this afternoon - hopefully after the ski day, but the chances will be increasing from late morning onwards. Perhaps even earlier if we’re unlucky, as the cloud cover is already looming - so it’ll be overcast all day. Perisher Valley looks set to hit a balmy 10 degrees by 2pm, Charlotte Pass 9 around the same time, and Thredbo Top station a max of 7 degrees by around 1pm. I doubt winds will bother you at all, hitting a Fresh Breeze at worst.
So, my Crystal Ball is telling me that today is the day to make the most of all the snow that we currently have, as most of the lifts will still be open at all three resorts. I think I’ve convinced myself to take a morning out and head up actually! If you are heading up too, you won’t have an issue with the roads, but be careful if it’s raining on your way back.
Thanks for listening and please subscribe and leave a review if you’re liking what you hear. I’m Anthony Gravin, it’s Wednesday September 21 and this has been Daily Snow.
