Hmmm..... Rain.
Transcript
I’m just gonna come right out and say it - it’s looking like a miserable day on the slopes today. Currently it’s overcast and raining, with a few mm of rain so far, and another 10 - 20mm predicted through the day. Let’s also throw in the chance of a thunderstorm in the late morning for good measure. Though I’ve never actually been witness to a thunderstorm on the snow - if it happens, and you manage to capture it, please tag dailysnowpod so we can check it out!
Anyway, Perisher valley is expected to reach a top of 9 degrees, Thredbo Top Station 5, and Charlotte Pass 8 , though with the wet all the hills will feel colder than that. On a slightly positive note, the winds shouldn’t be too much of a problem - it’s calm right now, and will hopefully stay that way down low, with moderate breezes higher up.
A couple more lifts across the resorts closed down yesterday, but really, the number that are open for this time of year is quite spectacular - 4 at Charlotte Pass, 8 a t Thredbo and in the high 20’s at Perisher.
If you are driving up, you will not need snow chains on your wheels, just carry them in the boot. The roads might be slippery with the rain, so take it easy.
That’s it for me - I hope you have a good one wherever you are, and I won’t see you on the slopes today! But you should subscribe to the podcast so you can hear me tomorrow… I’m Anthony Garvin, it’s Tuesday September 27 and this has been Daily Snow.
